After a very successful debute last March, we are ready for the next edition of Blues Retreat NL, this time in Christmas style. With a family of about 50 Blues dance lovers we will have a weekend of winter holidays. Please join us, because if you don’t … “We’ll have a Blue(s) Christmas without you.”

So, what does it mean, a ‘Do It Yourself’ Blues Dance Camp?
Well, we organizers will take care off …
- a venue where we can sleep, chill, cook & eat, teach, make music and dance
- sound equipment for classes, DJ’s and live music, including PA and drum kit
- back-office like registration, finance and similar boring stuff
- some coordination of the participants activities
- communication for you all know what’s going on and we know what your plans are
You (all participants) will take care of: THE REST !!
So if you want to …
- Dance with other people? Promote our event with your friends
- Teach a class or workshop? Tell us your plans and requirements
- DJ some Blues? We will give you a spot.
- Play live music? We will have jams, please jump in
- Perform? Great! We’ll give you a stage
- Compete? Set up a competition
- Lecture? Tell a story or lead a discussion: we’ll be hanging on your lips
- Cook? If we want more than pizza, we need a chef and some experienced (home)cooks
- Massage people? We love you already
- Organize a cultural activity? Be our guest
- Want memories? Make and share pictures and video’s
- Help out? We have many small volunteer jobs that will need to be done, we will give everyone some tasks eventually. P.a. We need drivers to transfer people, set up the rooms, clean up and probably a lot we haven’t even thought about
To summarize, we will facilitate and make sure to keep the complete chaos out. You will fill in the content!
For some crucial tasks we will hunt the right heads, also for preparation in the time before the festival. Tasks will be divided into small teams like food, party, scheduling, transport, etc.
Everyone pays the ticket, nobody gets paid for their work, we all help and we all benefit.
And that is what we call a ‘Do It Yourself’ Blues Dance Camp !
